Hello
Xander J. Hobson , Stand up comedian here. Check out my page and if you like what you see, book me. Most people get into comedy for fame and fortune, but I got into comedy because it's safer and less stressful than boxing, the military and being married: THE-THUMP-THUMP! Plus, if I spread enough happiness and laughter, I'll have a really nice funeral, something that's very important to me.
My Story
Xander J. Hobson is a Philly comedian, who has directed and produced more than 10 boxing documentaries. His old-school style of stand up, stems from 55 years of living. Xander, the former boxer, who traded the boxing ring for the stage, the gloves for a microphone and is now, “knocking ‘em dead” as opposed to knocking 'em out." Xander is also a veteran of two wars and numerous conflicts, owing to a life in the streets, the Armed Force and being married for 30-years, to four different women: THE-THUMP-THUMP! He has harnessed all of these unique experiences, to enthrall audiences across greater Philadelphia, New York City, the DMV and other parts of the US. While attending Philadelphia Comedy College, Xander was closely mentored by Philadelphia legend TuRae Gordon (Stand Up NBC), and took pages from the books of Frank Vignola (Comedy Central) and Jerry Corley, The Joke Doctor. Xander has graced some of the east coast’s most renowned stages: The Broadway Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live, and Helium Comedy Club. Xander has opened for Michael Rapaport, John Henton and TuRae Gordon to name a few. Xander’s many creative pursuits allow him to give back to the community. The boxing documentaries he directs and produces are a tribute to the sport that he credits with keeping him both alive and out of jail. Xander is the founder of a theater group called the Brilliant Artists Movement or BAM, which can be seen on Youtube and other social media platforms. BAM’s aim is to promote social consciousness through humor while providing a platform for other talented artists.
